It’s been nearly five years since I’ve lived in the USA, but as of two weeks ago, my new home-base is Macon, Georgia.
This is the first time I’ve been to Macon, to Georgia, and even to the South. The transition from living in Asia for so long, and moving to an area of my home country that is both so familiar yet so different, has led to a bit of culture shock. Now that I have a consistent and more convenient internet connection (and no longer constantly writing for Travelfish.org and other publications in Asia), I’ll be using my blog to help process and document this change. I’ll also be processing and posting achieve images and stories from Asia along the way.
To me, these photos of my first day here – an incredibly fun and warm welcome from some fantastic people – emphasize that complete change of pace and lifestyle. A change that I think I can get used to.
